Laura Lange

Litigation

Laura has assisted her clients in defending cases involving mineral rights disputes, employment discrimination, products liability, commercial fraud, trade secrets, tortious interference and other business torts, and contract disputes. Laura worked with McGuireWoods LLP for approximately ten years, representing clients in complex commercial litigation matters, with a focus on class action litigation involving state and federal consumer protection statutes. For the past five years, Laura has been managing all litigation for an entity holding substantial oil and gas assets in Pennsylvania's Marcellus Shale play.

Laura practices before both state and federal courts across the country, and has successfully represented her clients in bench and jury trials. She has also handled appellate matters before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Third, Seventh and Ninth Circuits, and the Illinois and Pennsylvania Supreme Courts.

Laura graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a concentration in Structural Engineering. Laura worked as an engineer for several years before attending law school at Chicago-Kent College of Law. This experience has provided Laura with many useful tools for her practice, including creative problem solving and adept comprehension of technical matters. During law school, Laura was an Executive Articles Editor for the Law Review, a teaching assistant, and a judicial extern for the Honorable Amy J. St. Eve of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
