Katie Hamilton
Litigation and Intellectual Property LawKatie represents clients in employment litigation, commercial disputes, and intellectual property matters, including both litigation and trademark prosecution.
With a background in business management, Katie brings a practical understanding of how legal strategy intersects with organizational goals. Before attending law school, she gained hands-on business experience that continues to inform her forward-thinking and creative approach to problem-solving. She partners proactively with clients—offering training to reduce risk and advising on risks that could lead to litigation. This has led to resolution of issues before a case is even filed or considered. However, when a case is filed, she vigorously defends her clients’ interests and develops winning case strategies with a singular focus—the best possible result for the client.
Katie has experience in all phases of litigation, including both jury and bench trials. Her clients value her ability to create an environment of trust, where they can share the honest facts and receive a truthful assessment.
A Cedar Rapids, Iowa, native, Katie started her career in Iowa where she litigated a variety of cases, including employment, intellectual property, and commercial litigation. Prior to joining Ewing & Jones, she worked for a large regional firm in Houston. During law school, she interned with the Iowa Supreme Court. Katie was the valedictorian at Drake University Law School and was a staff member of the Drake Law Review.
