John VerebIntellectual Property Law and Litigation
John Vereb has been a patent attorney since 2001 and has extensive experience as both an engineer and attorney. John is a Professional Engineer and had over a decade of engineering experience before obtaining his law degree. Adding to his engineering background, John has practiced in both in-house and outside counsel roles for some of the largest corporations and law firms in the United States.
John was a senior engineer for Public Service Electric and Gas in New Jersey, working at the Salem and Hope Creek Nuclear Generating Units. After obtaining his law degree, John was a patent attorney in Philadelphia at a mid-sized intellectual property boutique firm before moving to New York to practice with Kenyon & Kenyon and Duane Morris. John moved to the Houston area in 2010, and worked for Schlumberger for several years, ultimately having final responsibility for all patents applications for Schlumberger’s Drilling Group. In both his inside- and outside-counsel roles, he has practiced complex patent prosecution, IP due diligence, litigation, and patent portfolio management.
John earned his Bachelor and Masters of Engineering degrees from Stevens Institute of Technology in 1989 and 1994, respectively. He graduated from Widener University School of Law in 2001. He is licensed to practice in Texas, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
